How to make web pages

A short tutorial

To make web pages, you need to create the files for the website and upload them to your web host. Optionally, you'll also need to register a domain name, but only if you want your very own 'special' web address, or url.

I offer domain name registration for only $25.00/year.

To create the files, you'll need an editor. The simplest editor you can use to make webpages is Notepad, which is included with Windows. You have to know how to input html, and a good primer is located here.

Here is an example of a web page made with notepad;

Lost in the Supermarket

(HINT: right click on any page and select VIEW SOURCE to see the html code that renders the pretty web pages you see on the internet)

You can also use what I used to make this website, and it's free;

Enersoft's SiteGenWiz

Some other programs you can use are;

Microsoft's FrontPage

Print Shop Deluxe

Site Spinner

Other free programs

Other shareware programs

And there's lots more!

Next thing you'll need is a webhost, to upload your files and host them for all to see. The choices here are endless, but most ISP's offer some sort of web publishing ability for free with your internet account. Ask them about it.

You could also get your own webhost from any hosting company.

I offer web space for only $150.00/year.

Of course, you could also just pay someone to make a website for you, but it's fairly expensive and there's no fun involved for you. You also wouldn't learn much that way.

HTH!
